One injured in two-vehicle crash on State Route 29

A two-vehicle crash on State Route 29 in Champaign County sent one driver to the hospital early Friday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers from the Springfield Post responded at approximately 5:56 a.m. on February 6 to a minor injury crash near mile marker 15 in Concord Township.

A preliminary investigation found that a 2014 Ford Edge, driven by Michelle Bashore, 49, of Urbana, was traveling westbound on State Route 29 when it was struck at an angle by a 2005 Dodge Ram traveling eastbound. The Dodge Ram was driven by Lauren Plantz.

Bashore was transported by ground ambulance to Urbana Hospital with minor injuries. Plantz was not injured in the crash.

Plantz was determined to be at fault and was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post.
