According to a press release from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, one person was killed, and two others were injured Monday evening following a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Clark County.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 6:34 p.m. on January 5 at the intersection of State Route 4 and Ohio 334 in Moorefield Township.
Preliminary findings indicate a 2005 Saturn Ion, driven by David Antonio, 31, of Springfield, was traveling eastbound on Ohio 334 when it failed to yield at a stop sign. The vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound 2009 Honda Accord on State Route 4, driven by Gavin Dyer, 18, of Urbana.
Following the collision, both vehicles traveled off the east side of State Route 4.
Antonio was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Dyer and his passenger, Adisyn Welty, 18, of Urbana, were transported by ground ambulance to Springfield Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries.
The intersection was temporarily closed while troopers conducted their investigation and reopened shortly after 8:40 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
