The City of Bellefontaine has learned that the Tornado Warning Siren located just off of Michigan Street has been recently damaged and is inoperable.
We are working to repair this siren as quickly as possible.
However, this siren will likely not be fixed prior to severe weather that is predicted for later this afternoon and this evening.
Residents are advised to use other sources to receive severe weather notifications.
These other sources include:
- Commercially available weather apps (available in your app store)
- NOAA weather radio
- The Logan County Alert found at: https://signup.hyper-reach.com/hyper_reach/sign_up_page_2/?id=30223
- Local radio and TV stations
All other tornado sirens located within the city were found to be fully functional during the weekly testing conducted last Friday at noon.
Another announcement will be made when this siren is functioning.
