Urbana High School has announced its Seniors of the Month, Emma Osornio and Brody Donahoe.
Emma Osornio
School activities & awards: Emma has been involved in Musical and PBIS during her time at Urbana High School.
If I were principal for a day: I would allow cell phones and change the school start time to 9:30 a.m.
Favorite school memory: My favorite school memory is when I got elected as the president of choir.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My older sister, my FFA teacher Mr. Wilhem, and my choir teacher Mr. Myers.
Lately, I have been reading: Save Me an Orange by Haley Grace.
My advice to parents: Let your child have space to grow and make mistakes.
My biggest regret: Not being more involved in my school.
Next year I will be: Studying at a beauty school to earn my nail technician’s license.
Brody Donahoe
School activities & awards: Brody has been a four-year varsity soccer athlete, serving as a three-time team captain, earning two First Team All-Conference honors and First Team All-District recognition. He also participated in varsity baseball for four years and varsity basketball for two years. In addition, Brody was involved in UHS DECA and the National Honor Society.
If I were principal for a day: I would give students more food options at lunch, including healthier and better meals.
Favorite school memory: Participating in sports with my friends.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My dad, who has shown me how a man should act and go about life.
Lately, I have been reading: Holes by Louis Sachar.
My advice to parents: Be good role models for their children and other kids, because many kids act and behave how they see adults act.
My biggest regret: Not taking more risks and stepping out of my comfort zone to truly experience as much as possible.
Next year I will be: Attending Miami University to study a business major.
