Troopers from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to two separate single-vehicle crashes in Champaign County over the past two days.
The first occurred early Wednesday morning around 6:20 a.m. on State Route 559 near milepost 10 in Rush Township.
Investigators say a 2005 Hino tractor-trailer driven by 60-year-old Joseph Sadi of Canal Winchester went off the right side of the road, returned to the roadway, and then veered off the left side. The truck struck a traffic sign before overturning.
Sadi was taken by ambulance to Mercy Health–Urbana Hospital for possible injuries. He was found at fault in the crash and cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.
The second crash occurred Tuesday morning around 7:17 a.m. on Hite Road in Harrison Township, just north of Couchman Road.
Troopers say 16-year-old Aiden Hull of West Liberty lost control of his 2014 Honda CR-V after running off the right side of the road. The vehicle overcorrected, went off the left side, struck a utility box, and overturned.
Hull was treated at the scene for possible injuries but was not transported. He was also cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.
Both crashes remain under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Highway Patrol.
