Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in Lakeview Friday evening.

Michael Cole Jr. met deputies outside and said that his live-in girlfriend, Kerri Emrick, was extremely drunk, hit him earlier and the day, and wouldn’t leave him alone.

Emrick was visibly intoxicated, made snide comments, and ignored requests to stay inside the home.

After asking Cole to wait outside so they could speak with Emrick, he entered the home and became belligerent with deputies.

Ignoring several requests, Cole advanced towards them.

A deputy drew their taser and after several warnings to comply with requests or be tased, the deputy deployed their taser.

The taser did not make contact with Cole.

He then fell onto a deputy, pushing them both onto a couch.

The deputy pushed their taser into Cole’s upper back, making him react and fall to the floor.

Landing on his stomach, deputies were able to handcuff him.

The couple was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Cole was charged with Persistent Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest and Emrick was charged with Persistent Disorderly Conduct.
