OVI checkpoint leads to second-offense arrest in Marysville

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Marysville Police Division, conducted an OVI checkpoint Monday night on North Main Street in Marysville.

During the checkpoint, officers made contact with 140 drivers.

Four motorists were diverted for further investigation.

One of those drivers was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for a second OVI offense within 10 years.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol thanked the Ohio Department of Transportation, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Marysville Police Division, Union County Prosecutor’s Office and Brigg’s Towing for their assistance with the checkpoint.

Troopers remind motorists that if they see an impaired or reckless driver, they should call #677 to be connected directly with the nearest Ohio State Highway Patrol post.
