Early Saturday morning, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s office were dispatched to State Route 274 and Township Road 95 because a suspicious man was walking on the road, and possibly intoxicated.
Authorities found Anthony Partington staggering down 274, losing his balance and falling.
Once he was able to get back on his feet, Partington staggered towards the patrol car.
With slurred speech, Partington began to explain to deputies that he was going home.
When asked why he was going the wrong way, he stated he was going to get cigarettes from the gas station in Huntsville.
Deputies observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Partington and he appeared to be intoxicated.
Authorities then asked Partington to stand beside the patrol car so they could pat him down for weapons.
He was advised that he was under arrest for Public Intoxication.
As officers attempted to place handcuffs on Partington, he pulled his hand away and attempted to turn around to face officers.
Partington was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was charged with Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.
