UPDATE: Stiltner struck by concrete truck in downtown Bellefontaine

UPDATE: 9:45 AM 3/31/26:

Treva Stiltner, 78, of Bellefontaine, was seriously injured after being hit by a cement truck at the intersection of South Main Street and Auburn Avenue on Monday evening.

According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, Stiltner was crossing from the southwest corner of the intersection when a cement truck turning southbound on South Main Street hit her.

The impact threw her to the ground and crushed her right leg.

The truck driver immediately stopped after realizing what had happened.

Officers on scene quickly provided emergency aid.

One officer applied a tourniquet to Stiltner’s upper right thigh while ensuring she was breathing until Bellefontaine EMS arrived.

She was then transported to a nearby helipad and flown by MedFlight for further medical care.

No additional updates on Stiltner’s condition have been released.

UPDATE 4:00 AM 3/31/26:

According to Bellefontaine Fire Chief Brian Wilson, an elderly female was struck by the concrete truck at the intersection.

She had severe traumatic injuries to her lower extremities.

She was alert and trying to get up off the cot at one point, but, due to the severity of her injuries, she was intubated by paramedics on the scene before being flown by MedFlight to Grant Hospital in Columbus.

Her condition is critical, and the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Members of the MCCIT (Multi-County Crash Investigation Team) responded with a drone to assist Bellefontaine Police in reconstructing the accident.

Main Street in downtown Bellefontaine was closed Monday evening following a serious accident involving a concrete truck and a pedestrian.

The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Auburn Avenue.

A concrete truck reportedly struck a female pedestrian in the area.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene.

The woman was transported by medical helicopter to a larger area hospital for treatment.

Her condition has not yet been released.

Law enforcement shut down Main Street for nearly three hours as crews worked the scene and did their investigation.

Traffic was rerouted around the area, causing delays for motorists traveling through downtown.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the cause of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
