Indian Lake EMS is making sure our four-legged friends are protected during emergencies.
Thanks to a recent donation of pet oxygen masks in various sizes, all medical units are now equipped to help dogs and cats suffering from smoke inhalation during fires.
Just like people, pets can be seriously affected by smoke.
These special masks let EMS crews deliver oxygen safely, giving pets a better chance to recover and reunite with their owners.
While EMS staff can provide oxygen support, they do not provide veterinary care—so pets still need proper treatment from a vet after a fire.
This new equipment is another way Indian Lake EMS shows that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family.
