Riverside Local School held its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 6:30 pm in the High School Gymnasium.

A total of 48 students graduated from the class of 2024. Pastor Michael Mitchell of the Cornerstone Fellowship of De Graff gave an invocation as well as closing.

Performances were made by the Schools Music Department under the direction of Mrs. Kasandera Corckett.

The Band played a combination of Cold Play Classics and the Choir sang “My Wish”.

Commencement speeches were given by Valedictorian, Jailyn Leeper and Salutatorian, Rylee McCully.

Rylee spoke about facing fears in the past and being brave for the future.

“There’s only one guarantee in our future: our lives are about to change,” Jailyn says, as her speech focused on making an impact in the future.

An honorary diploma was presented to the family of Makayla “KK” Brandyberry.

KK had a courageous three-year battle with Osteosarcoma and passed away in October 2023.
