According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, a months-long drug trafficking investigation resulted in the arrest of a local man and the execution of multiple search warrants Monday.

On November 24, 2025, at 9:57 a.m., the BPD K9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a dark green Dodge Ram driven by 50-year-old Tyrone Jackson, of Columbus, who was wanted on a first-degree felony warrant for trafficking in cocaine.

The warrant stemmed from an extensive investigation involving Bellefontaine Police detectives, the BPD K9 Unit, detectives from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area).

Jackson was taken into custody at the scene.

During the stop, K9 Pyro was deployed for an exterior sniff and alerted to the odor of narcotics.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed over an ounce of crack cocaine and a digital scale.

Following the arrest, detectives from BPD and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Columbus to meet with HIDTA detectives.

Together, they executed three narcotics-related search warrants at residences linked to Jackson.

Searches at all three locations uncovered evidence consistent with drug trafficking and illegal drug manufacturing, along with U.S. currency, drug paraphernalia, and three firearms, one of which was confirmed stolen.

Police say additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, the coordinated efforts of all agencies, specialized units, and the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office highlight their continued commitment to combating illegal drug activity and keeping the community safe.
