A local man was arrested Saturday night after police determined he was impaired while sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot on East Lake Avenue.
Around 9:00 PM, Bellefontaine Police officers were called to a lot on the 400 block of East Lake Avenue after a witness reported a suspicious vehicle.
The caller told police that a man had been parked at the location for over an hour and became confrontational when asked to leave.
Upon arrival, officers located a gray 2018 Jeep and spoke with the driver, later identified as Christopher Bailey, 53, of Bellefontaine.
He showed several signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking six to ten beers at the Moose Lodge earlier in the evening.
Bailey began field sobriety tests, but then refused to complete them.
Officers arrested Bailey for operating a vehicle while impaired and transported him to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where he refused a breath test.
He was issued citations, given a mandatory court date, and released to a sober driver.
