Early Wednesday morning, Bellefontaine Police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the Lowe’s parking lot at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Officers found a blue SUV with its rear door open and four occupants, including 20-year-old Damen Eugene Young, of Urbana, 19-year-old Cecilia Adams, of DeGraff, and two passengers in the back seat, later identified as Jerry Lewis Jr., 20, of DeGraff, and Cayden Sions, 19, of St. Paris.
According to law enforcement, open containers of alcohol were visible in the vehicle.
During the investigation, officers also discovered a sandwich bag containing marijuana and related paraphernalia on Lewis.
Officers assisted Young with a flat tire and conducted a field sobriety test, during which no signs of impairment were found.
A search of the vehicle turned up several empty and full alcoholic beverages and a cooler of beer.
Damage to the SUV was noted on the driver’s side rear quarter panel, and the tire was found almost off the rim.
The occupants denied being in an accident.
Young was issued a summons and citation related to underage alcohol possession, Adams received a summons for her involvement, and Lewis received a citation for possession of marijuana and alcohol.
All three parties have mandatory court appearances scheduled for later in the month at the Bellefontaine Municipal Court.
