According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers responded to a domestic dispute Sunday night, shortly before 11:00 p.m., on the 500 block of Gunntown Road.
Police say the victim reported that 34-year-old Stephanie Newman of Bellefontaine allegedly struck them multiple times in the face.
When 911 was called, the victim stated that Newman had left the residence in a gray Ford.
Officers located the vehicle at Kent Drive and Wright Street and conducted a traffic stop.
The victim told police that after returning home from work and taking a shower, Newman confronted them, accusing them of cheating.
Newman then left the apartment with the victim’s phone before returning, at which point a physical altercation occurred.
The struggle included punching, slapping, and pulling on the victim’s facial hair.
The victim reported minor injuries and clumps of facial hair lost during the incident.
Newman was arrested on the scene and transported to the Logan County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
