A Bellefontaine man was arrested Thursday night after police responded to reports of threatening and disorderly behavior.
Police were first called around 8:00 p.m. to a home on Cantwell Avenue for a possible menacing complaint.
Officers spoke with a resident who said Davien Hamilton, 22, of Bellefontaine, had come onto her porch, repeatedly pounded on the door, and was acting disorderly over an incident involving an identification card and a dispute over rent money.
Hamilton was warned for persistent disorderly conduct and told he was trespassed from the residence.
About 30 minutes later, officers were called to the 500 block of South Madriver Street for a report that Hamilton was threatening to harm himself and others.
A woman told officers Hamilton was moving toward her and swinging his hands at her.
She said Hamilton threatened to kill her, himself, and others, and at one point held a knife to his neck.
Hamilton denied intending to harm himself, but officers said he continued acting erratically and admitted he had been drinking throughout the day.
Hamilton was eventually placed in handcuffs and taken to the Logan County Jail.
He was booked on aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor, and persistent disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
