Wednesday morning, just before 10 AM, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office issued the following update:
On Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, at approximately 9:56 pm, Deputies responded to 7782 S.R. 559, Zanesfield, Oh in reference to a missing 63-year-old female. When Deputies arrived, they searched a pond on the property and found the missing female in the pond. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and was identified as Marianne R. Saxton, 63 of that address. Deputies are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Emergency crews were called to a possible drowning Tuesday night around 10:00 PM in the 7000 block of State Route 559 in Logan County.
According to scanner traffic, crews responded after receiving a report of a female possibly drowning in the area.
The female was later found deceased.
No other details have been released at this time.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release additional information as the investigation continues.
