The Benjamin Logan School District is delighted to announce that Gretchen Powell and Jason Smith, teachers at Benjamin Logan Schools, participated in the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) Teachers Institute in Newington, CT last week.

During their week-long stay, Powell and Smith engaged in diverse activities focused on radio, electronics, wireless technology, and microprocessors.

Their hands-on experience included using ARRL’s state-of-the-art equipment, enabling them to communicate with fellow radio operators across different states.

A highlight of the training was obtaining their Amateur Radio Licenses.

Both teachers are eager to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired from this unique experience into their classrooms.

They believe the innovative concepts learned at the ARRL Teachers Institute will enhance their teaching and inspire students to explore the fascinating world of radio and wireless technology when they return in the Fall.
