Josey Queen is the daughter of Grace and Dan Queen of Rushsylvania.
School activities and awards: Spanish NHS, FCA, ROC, National Honor Society, and ROOTS Awards: Honda Breakfast, Raider Awards, Academic Letters, JV Softball Awards, All Academic Sports Team, and Science Fair Excellent Ratings.
If I were principal for a day: I would let the elementary students come over for lunch with the high school students.
Favorite school memory: Listening to “Boyfriend Forever” on repeat in pre-calculus every day.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents, my older sister, Mr. Smith, Profa Hughes, Mr. Kettler, Mrs. Gibson, and Mrs. Kavanagh. All of these people have been a big part of my academic journey.
Lately, I have been reading: The Lucky List by Rachael Lippincott.
My advice to parents: Trust that sometimes growth comes from letting your kids figure out some things on their own. These moments can teach the most valuable lessons.
My biggest regret: My biggest regret is being shy for most of high school. I wish I would have put myself out there more in previous years.
Next year: Attending college for Chemistry and working to enter the Forensics field.
