Quest Federal Credit Union warns members of phone scam

Quest Federal Credit Union is alerting member-owners about a scam that has recently been reported in the area.

According to the credit union, some members have received phone calls that appear to come from Quest Federal Credit Union, even displaying the credit union’s name and the CEO’s name on caller ID.

During these calls, scammers urgently request debit card or account information, claiming it is needed to fix a problem that does not actually exist.

Quest Federal says these calls are an example of caller ID spoofing, a form of fraud in which scammers use technology to make it look like a call is coming from a legitimate business or phone number.

Members are urged not to provide any personal or account information if they receive one of these calls.

Anyone contacted should report the call to Quest Federal Credit Union immediately so staff can confirm there are no issues with the account.

Quest Federal encourages members to remain cautious and to follow the credit union’s official social media pages for additional updates as they become available.
