A Quincy man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence after a crash early Sunday morning.
Just after 2:30 a.m., Logan County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Carlisle Street in Quincy, where a vehicle hit a parked truck and continued south before stopping near Jefferson Street.
Deputies identified the driver as 22-year-old Noah Baker of Quincy, who was driving a 2013 Ford F-150.
Witnesses reported Baker appeared intoxicated and said the parked vehicle likely prevented the truck from crashing into a nearby home.
Deputies say Baker admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages before the crash and showed signs of impairment.
He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
A breath test later showed Baker’s blood alcohol level at 0.162, twice the legal limit.
He was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and going left of center.
No injuries were reported, given a mandatory court date and then released to a sober driver.
