On Monday, the Benjamin Logan High School Quiz Bowl Team competed at the Wright State Scholastic Bowl at Wright State University’s Lake Campus in Celina and finished as Runner-Up, improving on last year’s third-place finish.
Team members:
- Senior: Ethan Van Winkle
- Juniors: Junah Tingley, Emily LeVan, Maille Ricketts
- Sophomore: Michael Berry
- Freshman: Laurel Smith
The team advanced to the finals before falling to the tournament champion.
Next up: NAQT State Championships at Bellefontaine High School in April.
Also on Monday, the Bellefontaine High School Quiz Bowl team traveled to Jonathan Alder to face Springfield Shawnee and Jonathan Alder.
- First match: Bellefontaine defeated Shawnee 330-65. Top scorers: Ethan Reynolds 70 points, Caitlin Haley 50 points (including two Power questions), Clara Core 20 points.
- Second match: Bellefontaine defeated Jonathan Alder 255-125. Top scorers: Ethan Reynolds 45 points, Caitlin Haley 30 points, Clara Core 20 points.
The Chieftains finished CBC play with a 4-3 record.
Bellefontaine will host the Ohio State Quiz Bowl Championships on April 11 at Bellefontaine High School.
