Each year, Heritage Ohio, Ohio’s statewide coordinating agency for historic preservation, honors the people, places, and projects that exemplify a commitment to growth through historic preservation and community revitalization. This year, the buildings of Bellefontaine’s Rainbow Row have been selected as one of three finalists for the Best Commercial Rehabilitation Award.
The Best Commercial Rehabilitation Award is presented to the best total building rehabilitation project based on proper preservation techniques. Historic rehabilitation projects completed between 2022-23 are eligible for this year’s award.
“We are incredibly honored that Bellefontaine’s Rainbow Row has been recognized as a finalist for Best Commercial Rehabilitation by Heritage Ohio,” said Jason Duff, Founder & CEO of Small Nation. “This project represents the heart of what we do at Small Nation – revitalizing historic buildings while preserving their character and turning them into thriving spaces that serve our community. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and vision in creating a vibrant future for small towns like Bellefontaine.”
This year, the award ceremony will be on Tuesday, October 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the historic Midland Theatre in downtown Newark. The award ceremony kicks off the 2024 Heritage Ohio Annual Conference and is free and open to anyone to attend.
