Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 37-year-old John Reid, of Belle Center, on Thursday night.
Deputies were called shortly before 7:00 PM after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
Reid told deputies that an argument had happened earlier in the day and that he had gone to his truck in the driveway to cool off; however, the victim followed him.
According to reports, the situation escalated when Reid exited the truck and pulled the victim out of the vehicle.
The victim reported experiencing pain and later showed red marks and scratches on her arm.
She also stated that Reid forced his way back into the home by pushing a chair that had been placed against a bedroom door.
Inside the house, the victim said Reid attempted to grab her phone.
During the struggle, her arm swung back while she was holding a baby, resulting in accidental contact with the child.
Reid denied injuring the victim and claimed she had been the aggressor.
The victim reported that Reid had been verbally abusive throughout the day and had thrown items inside the home.
Deputies also confirmed that Reid has a previous domestic violence history and had previously pleaded guilty in an earlier case.
Reid was transported to the Logan County Jail.
