The City of Urbana Fire Division responded Sunday morning to a residential fire in the 100 block of East Church Street.
Crews arrived within minutes and found smoke coming from the eaves of the home. The incident was quickly declared a working fire, prompting assistance from nearby departments through automatic and requested mutual aid.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in under an hour while additional personnel were recalled to maintain district coverage. During the response, crews also handled two separate medical calls.
The Urbana Fire Division expressed appreciation for the support of neighboring fire departments, utility providers, volunteer groups, dispatchers, and law enforcement agencies.
No injuries were reported. Damage assessment is underway, and investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.
