Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed in Bellefontaine due to the extreme weather that may be present Friday.
Republic Services reported the delay to the city utility office Thursday afternoon.
You’re advised to set out your trash and recycling containers one day later than your normal day.
Here is the full notice from Republic Services:
The City of Bellefontaine was recently informed by Republic Services, that due to the extreme weather that may be present tomorrow, with high winds, and the probability of icy roads, refuse and recycling collection will not be completed Friday, December 23.
If your normal trash collection day is on this Friday route, you may set out your refuse and recycling on Monday, December 26, and they will attempt to collect these households once the normal Monday route is completed.
If it is still not collected on Monday, those Friday route households can set out their containers and bags for collection on Friday, December 30th.
Additional refuse that does not fit in your authorized container(s) will not need to be in the city blue bags. If you subscribed to the “Blue bag” service only, all your refuse will need to be in blue bags as always.
We are sorry for this inconvenience in the delay of service. It is for the safety of the Republic Services drivers and our citizens, and to prevent trash and recycling from blowing freely, due to high winds.
Thank you for your consideration.
