Republican Senate candidate Craig Riedel made a stop at Lulu’s at Indian Lake on Wednesday to meet with voters as part of his campaign for Ohio’s 1st Senate District seat.

Riedel, a former state representative from Defiance, hopes to replace Senator Rob McColley, who is term-limited.

During the visit, Riedel highlighted his 27 years of experience as a civil engineer in the steel industry, saying it gives him a unique understanding of how job creation and economic growth can benefit communities across Ohio.

“I’ve spent nearly three decades in the private sector,” Riedel said. “I know what it takes to grow jobs and keep Ohio competitive.”

He stressed the need for policies that support small businesses, reduce government red tape, and invest in workforce development.

Riedel also emphasized the importance of rural communities and pledged to make infrastructure a top priority.

“We need to improve roads, bridges, and broadband access in west-central Ohio,” he said. “These are the building blocks of strong local economies.”

Riedel told voters he’s focused on bringing common-sense, pro-growth solutions to Columbus and said he’ll continue traveling the district in the coming months to listen to concerns and share his vision for Ohio’s future.
