Riverside Elementary hosted its annual Spelling Bee on Monday morning.
Students from grades 3 through 6 participated in the event.
The competition lasted nine intense rounds, and in the end, Jayce Clerico claimed the championship with the winning word, “sardines”.
Scarlett Lentz finished as the runner-up.
Both students will advance to represent Riverside at the Logan County Spelling Bee on January 13th at 6 p.m. at the Holland Theatre.
The event featured three students from each grade, totaling twelve participants, all demonstrating impressive spelling abilities and school spirit.
