Riverside High School announced its Seniors of the Month for March.
Congratulations to Brook Hunkler and Wyatt Popp.
Brook Hunkler is the daughter of John and Brittain Hunkler.
She participates in varsity softball, volleyball, and cheerleading. She is a member of the NHS, NTHS, BPA, and PAC. She was recognized with the Honda Academic Achievement Award for Chemistry, Evening of Excellence, and a BPA State Qualifier. If she were principal for a day, Brook would turn the school into a fun house with different activities in different rooms. Her favorite school memory is playing Pickleball with her Calculus class. She recognizes her mother and Nana as the biggest influences in her life and advises parents to “Let your kids be kids and experience life in their way.” Brook’s biggest regret is not branching out more. Next year, Brook will attend the University of Northwestern Ohio, majoring in Human Resources Management.
Wyatt Popp is the son of Steve and Autumn Popp.
He participates in choir, show choir, District Honor Choir, solo and ensemble, and Art. He was recognized for perfect attendance in his junior year, Evening of Excellence, Rotary Honors Night, and Honda Academic Breakfast. If he were principal for a day, Wyatt would plan a trip to the Ohio Theater to listen to the organ. His favorite memory was the Junior Prom. Wyatt recognizes Jesus, his parents, his Grandma Sharon, Grandma, and Grandpa Williams, and his Granpa Popp as being his inspiration. His advice to parents is to “Guide your kids well and help lead them down the right path. Encourage them throughout their school years and beyond.” Wyatt’s biggest regret is not moving to Riverside Local Schools sooner. He hopes to be working full-time after he graduates this spring.
