Riverside Jr. High held its annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday morning, with 12 students participating in the competition.
Seventh-grader Sam Jackson claimed 1st place, securing the championship in the 7th round with the winning word “oblivion.”
Katie McFarlin earned runner-up.
Both students will advance to represent Riverside at the Logan County Spelling Bee on January 13th at 6 p.m. at the Holland Theatre.
