Riverside High School has named Aubree Huston and Jaxon Woods as their April Seniors of the Month.

Aubree Huston daughter of Summer and Jeremiah Huston.

As a multi-sport athlete, she played volleyball, basketball, and softball.

Huston earned honorable mention in volleyball from her sophomore through senior years and led the TRC in digs during her sophomore season.

In basketball she received honorable mention honors in both her junior and senior years.

Huston also earned an honorable mention in softball during her junior year.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Aubrey has been an active participant in several school organizations, including BPA, FFA, and the yearbook.

She says that if she were principal for a day, she would organize a water balloon fight between the senior girls and senior boys,

Huston’s favorite school memory is being named Snowball Queen during her senior year, a moment she will always cherish.

When reflecting on the people who have inspired her, Aubrey credits her parents, coaches, and several teachers, including Mrs. Marks, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Fauley, and Dr. Mann, for their encouragement and support.

Currently reading Lord of the Flies in English class, Aubrey’s advice to parents is simple but important: “Don’t let your child be on their iPad or phone for too long. Make them go outside and be active.”

Huston’s biggest regret is opting for cheerleading during her 7th-grade year instead of pursuing volleyball sooner.

Next fall, Huston will study at the University of Rio Grande, where she will focus on social work and play volleyball.

Jaxon Woods is the son of Tim and Candice Woods.

A standout in both sports and extracurricular activities, Jaxon is involved in BPA, PAC, NHS, THS, FCA, and student council.

His accomplishments on the sports field have been equally impressive, particularly in golf and basketball.

In golf, Woods was named second-team all-conference in 2021, first-team all-conference, and all-area in 2022, and continued to rise in recognition, securing first-team all-conference, all-area, and SW District Honorable Mention honors in 2023 and 2024.

Woods was awarded TRC Medalist of the Year and earned the title of “Player of the Year” in golf.

In basketball, Jaxon’s talent shone as he made the first team all-conference and received several other accolades, including SW Coach’s Poll recognition and All-Ohio Honorable Mention in 2025.

Jaxon’s involvement in BPA also earned him a state qualification in 2024 and 2025, with a national qualification in 2025.

If he were principal for a day, Jaxon would host an all-school lunch and organize a friendly softball game between seniors and staff—a perfect reflection of his inclusive and community-oriented approach.

His favorite high school memory is the everyday moments spent around the lunch table, chatting with friends about anything and everything.

Woods says he is inspired by his parents, family, and various teachers, including Mrs. Flemming, Mrs. Fauley, Mrs. Wyan, Mrs. Dunham, Coach Phelps, and administrators like Mrs. Kauffman and Dr. Mann.

Woods’s advice to parents is: “Be a role model to your children like my parents were to me. Be a superhero to your kid, no matter the time of day or the situation.”

Jaxon’s biggest regret is not starting golf earlier, but he looks forward to continuing his education at Ohio Northern University while competing in collegiate golf.
