The Riverside PTO hosted its first-ever Penny Wars to raise proceeds for new recess items for students to play with. Students brought in pennies to donate to the cause. As a reward, the class with the most money raised would get to slime Principal Mr. Bryce Hodge.
The class that raised the most money was Ms. Ashley Borchers kindergartners with $145.41.
The staff member with the most money raised was the elementary principal, Mr. Hodge with $230.21.
Although three other staff members, Mrs. Ellie Johnson, Ms. Morgan Robison, and Ms. Abby Steinke, did not raise as much money they were great sports about being slimed along with Mr. Hodge.
The elementary school raised a total of $768.76 for new recess items.
