Several state highway projects are expected to affect traffic in Champaign County starting next week, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

U.S. Route 68 will experience intermittent lane closures between U.S. 36 and the Logan County line beginning Monday, August 4.

The roadway will be reduced to a single lane between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily as crews begin repaving.

Traffic will be maintained through a flagging operation. The work is scheduled to continue through October 2025.

In addition, State Route 296 remains closed between Upper Valley Pike and U.S. 68 for ongoing bridge repairs.

The closure will continue through Thursday, August 21.

A posted detour routes traffic via U.S. 68 to Miami Street and Oakland Street.

Meanwhile, State Route 507 will also see intermittent daytime lane restrictions between U.S. 68 and State Route 245.

Work is ongoing between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, and is expected to continue through September.

This project also involves repaving, with traffic maintained by flaggers.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and to stay alert in work zones.
