The Logan County Engineer’s Office has announced upcoming chip seal work on County Road 10 hills in Jefferson Township, set to begin Monday at 8:00 a.m.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
As part of the work:
Monday, July 7: County Road 10 will be closed between U.S. Route 33 and County Road 5 beginning at 8:00 a.m. This closure will remain in effect overnight.
Tuesday, July 8: County Road 10 will be closed between County Road 55 and U.S. Route 33, also starting at 8:00 a.m. with an overnight closure.
During construction, emergency and local traffic will be allowed through using flagging personnel, but no through traffic will be permitted.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and exercise extra caution in the work zones.
Motorists should expect loose stones in the area for several days following the chip seal application.
In addition, no-passing zones will remain unmarked until fall.
To help the surface cure properly and ensure safety, drivers are asked to travel no faster than 20 mph on the first day the chip seal is applied, and no faster than 30 mph for at least a week afterward.
All work is weather-dependent.
The Engineer’s Office thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during the maintenance work.
