Several construction projects and temporary road closures are expected to affect highways in Champaign County this week.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says motorists should be aware of the following impacts:
U.S. 36 closure in St. Paris: The village will close U.S. 36 between Church Street and Springfield Street on Saturday, September 12, for a festival. Drivers should follow the posted local detour.
State Route 55: State Route 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68 will be intermittently reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September. Crews are repaving the roadway, and traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
State Route 29: State Route 29 between State Route 235 and State Route 560 will have intermittent one-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September as crews repave the roadway.
State Route 245: State Route 245 between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road will also have intermittent one-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through September for repaving.
U.S. 68: US 68 between State Route 55/Lewis B. Moore Drive and Springfield Pike will have lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the fall as crews resurface the roadway. Flaggers will be used when necessary.
ODOT also says the Village of North Lewisburg will close State Route 245/559 and Sycamore Street for a festival on Wednesday, September 16. Drivers should follow the posted local detour.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in work zones and allow extra travel time.
