Several construction projects are expected to affect state highways in Logan County next week, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. All work is weather permitting.
A new closure begins Monday, August 17, on State Route 559 between State Route 287 and County Road 158.
The highway will be closed for approximately 30 days while crews reconstruct the roadway.
The detour will take motorists from State Route 559 to State Route 245, north on U.S. 33, to State Route 739 and then State Route 287.
Several other road projects will continue throughout the county.
State Route 235 between State Route 720 and the Hardin-Logan County line will have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through fall 2026 as crews repave the roadway.
State Route 274 between the Rushsylvania corporation limit and State Route 273 will also have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through fall 2026.
Crews are also repaving State Route 366 between State Route 235 and U.S. 33, with intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through fall 2026.
State Route 117 between the Hardin-Logan County line and State Route 274, State Route 245 between the Mad River east of West Liberty and the Champaign-Logan County line, State Route 287 between State Route 245 and U.S. 33, and State Route 638 between U.S. 68 and Township Road 51 will continue to have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through August as crews repave those routes.
The long-term closure of State Route 274 between State Route 235 and State Route 117 also remains in effect.
The highway is expected to remain closed as crews construct a roundabout at the State Route 274 and U.S. 33 intersection.
The detour for that closure uses State Route 235, State Route 708, U.S. 33 and State Route 117.
ODOT reminds drivers to use caution in work zones, follow posted signs and allow extra travel time.
