Drivers across Logan County should plan for delays as several road projects continue this week.
The Logan County Engineer’s Office is overseeing fog sealing and resurfacing work on several roads, which will run through Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
Fog Sealing in Progress
Fog sealing is ongoing on select county roads to help preserve pavement and extend road life.
While work is taking place, roads are closed to through traffic, but local and emergency traffic is being maintained with the help of flaggers.
Remaining fog sealing schedule:
- County Road 66 (Quincy to Champaign County line): Traffic maintained with flaggers through Thursday
- County Road 65 (DeGraff to Champaign County line): Scheduled for Thursday, with flaggers in place
Drivers are reminded that these roads will have unmarked no-passing zones until fall.
To help the fog seal set correctly, motorists should drive no faster than 20 mph on the first day and keep speeds under 30 mph for at least a week afterward.
Resurfacing on County Road 11
Resurfacing is also in progress on County Road 11, from County Road 32 to County Road 31/Township Road 31, and will continue through Saturday.
This project is being completed by the Shelly Company and is limited to local and emergency traffic only—no through traffic is permitted.
Before paving began, butt joints were cut at intersections and bridges, creating bumps in the road.
Drivers are asked to slow to 15 mph or less in these areas to avoid damage and ensure safety.
Motorists are advised to expect delays, follow posted signage, and be prepared to stop when entering active work zones.
As always, all schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to keep Logan County’s roads safe and well-maintained,” the Engineer’s Office stated.
