Roadwork continues around Logan County

Motorists traveling through Logan County should be prepared for ongoing construction activity as several state highway projects continue to impact traffic.

Continuing Projects

  • State Route 273 – Lane Closure
    State Route 273 remains reduced to one lane between Oakridge Drive and Shady Lane through Friday for a bridge replacement. A temporary traffic signal is in place to direct traffic.
  • State Route 47 – Lane Restrictions
    Drivers can expect lane restrictions on State Route 47 between County Road 35 and Township Road 21A from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through September. This work is part of the final phases of a bridge replacement project.
  • State Route 273 – Lane Restrictions
    State Route 273 between U.S. 68 and the Union/Logan County line will be intermittently reduced to one lane through September, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily for repaving. Traffic is being managed with flaggers.
  • State Route 274 – Lane Restrictions
    Lane closures will also continue on State Route 274 between U.S. 68 and Sandusky Street from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through September as resurfacing work progresses.
  • State Route 292 – Lane Restrictions
    State Route 292 between Hamilton Street and State Route 47 will have intermittent single-lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through September for repaving. Traffic will be maintained by a flagging operation.

Motorists are urged to use caution in work zones and allow extra travel time.

The Logan County Engineer’s Office has announced that county crews will be chip sealing the following roads beginning Monday, July 14 at 7:00 a.m. and is expected to
conclude by Thursday, July 17, at 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.

There will be no overnight closures.

During these operations, emergency and local traffic will be maintained using flagging personnel.

No through traffic will be permitted.

Motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to plan alternate routes.

When traveling through these work areas, they ask all drivers to slow down and use extra caution.

You will encounter loose stone for a few days, and please note that these areas will have unmarked no-passing zones until fall.

For optimal safety and to help the chip seal cure effectively, motorists are encouraged to travel a maximum of 20 mph on the first day the chip seal has been applied and to travel a maximum of 30 mph for at least seven days after the chip seal has been applied.

  • County Road 59- County Line to County Road 21, July 14 and 15
  • County Road 58- Shelby County Line to Township Road 207, July 16
  • County Road 77- County Road 34 to County Road 21, July 17
