Robinaugh EMS is celebrating 50 years of service to Logan County and surrounding communities.
The family-owned and operated company was founded on October 1, 1976, when the late Larry Robinaugh purchased the ambulance service from Eichholz Kennedy Funeral Home.
The business started at 400 North Main Street in Bellefontaine before moving to a larger facility on Hunter Place in 2000.
Today, Robinaugh EMS operates from a 15,000-square-foot facility on West Columbus Avenue in Bellefontaine, with an additional satellite location in Marysville.
The company remains family-owned, with multiple generations of the Robinaugh family involved in the organization.
Larry Robinaugh’s son, Darin Robinaugh, now serves as president and CEO.
His daughter, Barb Page, oversees billing operations, including billing services for several other local EMS agencies.
Darin says the family connection remains an important part of the company’s identity.
“This really is a family business in every sense of the word,” said Darin Robinaugh, President/CEO of Robinaugh EMS. “My father started this company 50 years ago, and now my son Brody and his wife Megann are involved in the administration of the business. My wife Kathleen and all my kids have worked in the business at one time or another. Seeing multiple generations working together is something our family is very proud of.”
Robinaugh EMS has also grown alongside the emergency medical services industry, adapting to changes in technology, training, communications and patient care.
“Our employees are the heart of Robinaugh EMS,” Robinaugh said. “Over the last 50 years, hundreds of EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, administrative staff, supervisors and others have contributed to this organization. Each person has played a role in our story, and we are grateful for their dedication.”
The company is also recognizing its community partners, including fire departments, law enforcement agencies, hospitals, neighboring EMS agencies and the residents who have trusted Robinaugh EMS with their care.
A 50th anniversary celebration for current and former employees is planned for Saturday, October 3, from noon to 4 p.m. at the company’s Bellefontaine facility.
As Robinaugh EMS looks toward the next 50 years, the company says it remains committed to professional service, quality patient care, and its connection to the communities it serves.
