A DeGraff man was arrested early Friday morning for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) after Logan County Sheriff’s deputies caught him speeding and swerving on State Route 235 near State Route 274.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Friday morning.

Deputies on patrol witnessed a silver sedan taking a curve at high speed and clocked the vehicle going 70 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

The driver, later identified as 32-year-old Jasin Rorabough was seen nearly hitting a roadside sign before coming to a stop just south of the intersection.

He exited the vehicle with visible facial injuries, threw his keys into the roadway, and raised his hands in the air.

When approached by deputies, Rorabough said he had been involved in a confrontation with his brother, whom he accused of stealing from him.

He admitted to drinking alcohol and told deputies, “I’m ready to go where I need to go.”

They could smell the odor of alcoholic drinks coming from Rorabough, and he showed several other signs of intoxication.

Deputies then found an open can of Mike’s Hard Lemonade in the vehicle, which had blood on the rim.

Rorabough was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail, where a breath test revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.158, nearly twice the legal limit.

He was cited for speeding and operating a vehicle under the influence and later released to a sober driver.
