Jean-Paul Tiendrebeogo’s journey from hardship in Burkina Faso to making an impact on others’ lives was shared by Wes Easton at Monday’s Rotary Club meeting in Bellefontaine.
Easton recounted how Tiendrebeogo first walked into his office in 2012 seeking help, unaware that their meeting would eventually change countless lives.
Tiendrebeogo asked Easton for funding to bring water to his home in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the world.
Tiendrebeogo’s childhood was marked by extreme hardship.
He lost both parents by the age of nine, along with three siblings, and endured daily struggles for survival.
At twelve, after choosing to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, he faced a death threat from his uncle, forcing him to flee for his life.
Eventually, Tiendrebeogo found safety in a foreign city where he met an American couple who adopted him.
Their care and guidance demonstrated the power of unconditional love, shaping Tiendrebeogo’s path and inspiring him to help others.
Easton also highlighted the work of the non-profit Kingdom Investment International, which has been instrumental in providing clean water.
Just last year, the organization drilled seven wells, bringing hope and access to safe water for more than 40,000 people.
Since 2012, the organization has drilled 59 wells in total.
Easton said the project has also had a profound impact on him personally and on his faith.
It made him realize that he can make a difference and change the world by providing something as simple as water—something many of us take for granted.
Easton, the owner of Easton Water Solutions in Bellefontaine, offers free water to the community at his business on South Main Street, and he says he has provided more than 1.75 million gallons of water through this station.
All he asks in return is a donation to support the cause.
Easton talks about why he supports this cause:
