On Monday, members of the Bellefontaine Rotary Club visited Riverside High School to learn more about its Interact Club.
Riverside is one of three Interact Clubs in Logan County, along with Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan.
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored program for students aged 12-18, focusing on developing leadership skills and promoting Service Above Self.
The meeting featured a presentation by the students of the Riverside Interact Club.
The club heard from President Avery Perk, Secretary Evie McGill, and Kara Klingler, who presented a PowerPoint on the club’s activities.
Keira Manahan also spoke about Teen Dating Violence Prevention Week, highlighting the club’s involvement in important social issues.
These presentations allowed the Rotary members to learn more about the meaningful work Interact is doing in the community.

Interact clubs organize at least two major projects every year: one to support their school or community and another to promote international understanding.
Through these projects, students gain leadership experience, connect with others, and make a real difference.
The clubs are supported and guided by local Rotary clubs to help the students achieve their goals.
In addition to local projects, Interact members participate in global events like World Interact Week, the Interact Video Awards, Rotary Youth Day at the United Nations, and Global Youth Service Day.
These events give students a chance to expand their impact beyond their local communities.
The all-girl club unanimously agreed that being part of the club was something they love and wouldn’t trade the experiences, friendship, opportunity, leadership, and community service for anything else.
