Rushsylvania celebrates Independence Day

The Village of Rushsylvania celebrated Independence Day in true small-town style on Saturday, with a day full of festivities that brought the community together to honor tradition, service, and patriotism.

The day began with a hearty breakfast hosted by the Rushsylvania Lions Club, followed by the community’s annual parade at noon, which turned out to be the biggest one yet.

This year’s Grand Marshals, Dan and Joann Mitchell, rode proudly through the village to cheers and applause.

After the parade, residents made their way to the park for an afternoon of fun-filled activities.

Families enjoyed bounce houses, old-fashioned games, the kiddie tractor pull, and cornhole.

The day ended with a crowd-pleasing fireworks display, presented by the Rushsylvania Fire Department, lighting up the evening sky and closing out the celebration with a burst of color and hometown pride.

A special thank you to Louise Norris for the fantastic photos.
