According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, 83-year-old Donna Huffman of Rushsylvania was driving a 2006 Jeep Commander eastbound on State Route 540 on Monday afternoon when she ran a red light and hit a semi.
Police say the crash happened at the intersection of State Route 540 and the U.S. 33 exit ramp, just before 1:00 PM.
Huffman’s vehicle collided with a 2024 Freightliner semi driven by 50-year-old Sean Newell of Sauk Village, Illinois, who was making a right turn from the exit ramp onto State Route 540.
Huffman was cited for running the red light.
No injuries were reported.
