A 44-year-old man was arrested Thursday night after a traffic stop in Russells Point, according to the Russells Point Police Department.

An officer on patrol just before 11:00 PM on U.S. 33 first noticed the vehicle after it went outside its lane.

The driver then turned onto State Route 708, stopped briefly at a gas station, and continued driving.

Police say the driver committed additional violations, including not having a working license plate light and failing to use a turn signal.

The vehicle was eventually stopped on East Elliott Road.

The driver, identified as Jeremy Iiams, showed several signs of impairment and told the officer he had been drinking earlier in the evening.

Iiams then failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.

At the Logan County Jail, Iiams refused to take a breath test.

Police say his driver’s license was suspended as a result.

He has been charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a chemical test, and having no license plate light.

Iiams is scheduled to appear in Bellefontaine Municipal Court early next week.
