At approximately 5 PM on Saturday, law enforcement officials from multiple agencies successfully apprehended Michael Bowlin, 28, of Berea, Kentucky, in connection with an attempted murder case out of Cincinnati.

Bowlin, who had active warrants for his arrest, was located after a cell phone ping directed officers to the Indian Lake area.

Officers initially identified a vehicle associated with Bowlin in the 7200 block of Delaware Drive, where they discovered that Bowlin had been staying at a residence.

However, Bowlin was not present at the time of the officers’ arrival.

Further investigation revealed that Bowlin had been with Robert Sturgill, 30, of Russells Point, at the residence.

When officers contacted Sturgill, they requested his assistance in locating Bowlin, informing him of the active warrants and the possibility of criminal charges if he refused to cooperate.

Despite this, Sturgill refused to provide any information on Bowlin’s whereabouts.

As the investigation continued, officers traced the pair to a location in the 200 block of North Main Street in Lakeview.

When officers arrived at the scene, Sturgill was located and taken into custody, while Bowlin fled on foot, eventually climbing onto the roof of a building.

With the help of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit, Bowlin was successfully apprehended.

A search of the residence on Delaware Drive turned up critical evidence, which was turned over to detectives with the Cincinnati Police Department.

The investigation into the charges related to Bowlin’s attempted murder warrant is ongoing.

Both Bowlin and Sturgill were taken into custody.

Bowlin was lodged on his warrants, while Sturgill was charged with obstructing justice for his refusal to provide Bowlin’s location.

According to Washington Township Police Chief, Michael Thompson, “This was a collective effort by the Washinton Township Police Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Russells Point Police Department, Bellefontaine Police Department, and Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit. Logan County Law Enforcement Agencies seamlessly worked together to locate and apprehend a violent wanted individual safely. I can’t begin to explain how proud I am to serve alongside each Officer, Deputy, and Trooper assigned to Logan County. Logan County is safer because of each of them.”
