On Saturday, a crash outside Huntsville closed State Route 117 for several hours.
The crash involved two cars and a semi-truck, which caught fire, with flames coming from the back of the truck.
The semi’s trailer was detached and found across the roadway.
Firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the fire, while the Logan County HazMat team responded to handle a diesel fuel leak from the truck.
Four people were injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment.
One person was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital, and three others were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital.
The road remained closed for several hours as authorities investigated the cause of the crash and cleared the wreckage.
The following agencies responded to the scene: Richland Township Fire Department, BMRT Ambulance District, Bellefontaine Fire Department, Indian Lake EMS, Indian Joint Fire District, Logan County HazMat Team, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and further details are expected to be released soon.
