Second Harvest Food Bank announces January Mobile Pantry schedule

Residents across Champaign, Clark, and Logan counties will have multiple opportunities to access free food assistance in January, as the Second Harvest Food Bank of Champaign, Clark, and Logan Counties releases its Mobile Pantry schedule for the month.

The Mobile Pantry program brings food directly into communities, helping individuals and families facing food insecurity.

Most distributions are drive-through style, and many do not require an appointment.

Distributions begin Tuesday, January 6, at the Annex Building in Lakeview, running from 11 a.m. to noon.

On Wednesday, January 7, the Mobile Pantry will be at Lion’s Club Ball Park in West Liberty from noon to 1 p.m.

Additional January stops include Richland Township Park in Belle Center on January 13 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Triad High School on January 14 from 4 to 5 p.m., and the Church of Christ in Rushsylvania on January 15 from 11 a.m. to noon.

The Mobile Pantry will also visit the Champaign County Fairgrounds on January 16 from 10 to 11 a.m., St. Paris Firehouse on January 19 from 1 to 2 p.m., and Woodstock Free Will Baptist Church on January 20 from 4 to 5 p.m.

Later in the month, West Liberty will host another distribution on January 21 at the Lions Club Ball Park from noon to 1 p.m.

Logan County Fairgrounds will see a return visit on January 26 from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by St. Vincent de Paul in Russell’s Point on January 27, also from 11 a.m. to noon.

The final Mobile Pantry of the month is scheduled for January 29 at St. Michael’s Church in Mechanicsburg from 4 to 5 p.m.

Availability may vary, and residents are encouraged to arrive early and bring photo identification when possible.
