Bellefontaine Police responded to a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon, just after 3:30 at the intersection of County Road 32 and State Route 47.
According to reports, an 80-year-old Jackson Center man, Donald Ware, was driving a 2025 Honda CR-V northbound on County Road 32 when he entered the intersection against a red light.
Police say Ware’s vehicle was then struck by a westbound 2026 Volvo semi driven by 61-year-old Victor Conley of Covington.
A passenger in the CR-V, 78-year-old Rita Ware of Jackson Center, was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine EMS with suspected minor injuries.
Donald Ware was cited for a traffic control device violation.
The Honda CR-V sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
