According to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck accident on State Route 117 left one person injured after the vehicle crashed into a home Sunday at 2 PM.
Gary Campbell, 67, of Belle Center, was traveling northbound when the semi he was operating veered off the roadway, struck a ditch and then collided with a house north of Roundhead.
Campbell was transported by Alger EMS, to Lima Memorial for serious injuries.
His condition is unknown.
Fortunately, no occupants inside the home were injured during the incident.
Emergency crews from multiple local agencies, including Wayne Township, Richland Township, BMRT, St. Johns, and Huntsville, responded to the scene to assist with the situation.
According to authorities, the semi’s trailer was empty at the time of the crash.
State Route 117 was closed in both directions for several hours.
